Here at MotorDroid, we’re proud to call Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa, our hometrack. It’s more than just a dirt oval to us, thanks to the warm welcome we get every time we roll in. The ACS crew always treats us like VIPs, rolling out the red carpet with open arms and prime spots to capture the action. Last year’s “Salute to Truckers: Big Rig Night” on August 10, 2024, was no exception, and it’s a night we’ll never forget.
Presented by Keane Thummel Trucking, this annual event turned the half-mile dirt oval into a tribute to the backbone of America’s highways—the truckers who keep the nation moving. For motorsport fans and truck enthusiasts alike, it was a night to remember, and we’ve got the drone footage to prove it.
From high above, our drone captured the raw power of those massive big rigs tearing around the track, kicking up dust and shaking the stands. The event wasn’t just about the trucks, though—they shared the spotlight with the speedway’s regular classes like Modifieds, Stock Cars, and B-Mods, plus a special treat: winged sprint cars making their first appearance at ACS in over a decade. The pits opened at 4:00 PM, gates swung wide at 5:00 PM, and by the time hot laps kicked off at 6:30 PM, the crowd was buzzing with excitement.
Fans packed the grandstands, cheering not just for the action but for the truckers being honored. The drone footage shows it all—the rigs gleaming under the lights, the packed crowd, and that unmistakable energy of a community coming together. It was loud, it was gritty, and it was a perfect salute to the men and women behind the wheel.
Missed it? Don’t worry—check out the full drone video to relive the highlights. And if that gets your engine revving, mark your calendar for this year’s event on August 9, 2025. Adams County Speedway knows how to throw a party, and with their VIP treatment, we’ll be there to capture it all again. Stay tuned!
